About Mobilize the Poets
About Mobilize the Poets

We are a community-driven arts organization. An about-the-people, by-the-people outfit. We celebrate the lives of ordinary people in extraordinary times, and are supported by the community in the present.

This work is about all of us. It’s about our ancestors, our predecessors, our history.

And so to really do it, to really carry out these incredible multimedia productions, we need your help.

It’s time to mobilize the poets.

*Mobilize the Poets is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the charitable purposes of Mobilize the Poets must be made payable to “Fractured Atlas” only and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

One way to help is to donate.

We’re now hard at work on our next production: After the War: 1919, an original rock and roll history show about America’s post-war fight for democracy. Ticket sales alone will not cover all of our expenses so we’re reaching out today to ask for your support. Our show is highly orchestrated and takes teams of people who are exceptional in their work. And it has a strong visual element that is centered around powerful, archival images.

We are raising $10,000 to help pay for the people who will help bring this history to life on stage – musicians, actors, video wall operators, lighting crew, and sound crew.

Our longer term goal after a Madison debut is to travel the show around the state. It honors and celebrates ordinary people living during an extraordinary time—with striking parallels to today—and so we want to share it with as many audiences as possible by bringing it directly to their communities.

But, a successful state-wide tour first requires a successful launch.

Here’s how you can support us:

  • Donate online: Click here to donate!
  • Send us a check: Payable to Fractured Atlas with Mobilize the Poets in the memo line. Mailed to Mobilize the Poets, P.O. Box 14653, Madison WI 53708.
  • Share our fundraiser on social media and by forwarding this email. Tell your friends and your community about our work and ask them to support us!
  • We are also looking for volunteers and matching opportunities! If you’re able to offer either of these, please let us know by responding to this email.

You are the scaffolding around this all new way of sharing history. It’s because of you that we are here at all. And I can’t wait to share this new work with you!

And there are other, hugely helpful ways to give support.

  • Do you believe in this work?
  • Do you believe that connecting with the lives of the past can transform us here in the present?
  • Do you believe that everyday people who have done extraordinary things deserve to be celebrated?
  • Do you believe that to really understand history, we have to do more than just hear or read about it, we have to feel it, experience it?

If this is you, then we need you.

There are a few very simple things you can do that would help us immensely. If everyone reading this did just one of these things, the impact would be incredible.
